LAFD Puts Out Brush Fire Near Dodger Stadium

The blaze was out in 34 minutes

Los Angeles firefighters battled a blaze near Dodger Stadium on Monday afternoon.

The vegetation fire of less than 1 acre was reported at 1:25 p.m., according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was reported at the Golden State (5) Freeway and Stadium Way, but the fire department supplied a link to a map of the location showing the blaze on the southern end of Stadium Way near Scott Avenue and the historic Barlow Respiratory Hospital.

Forty-six firefighters responded to the small fire, knocking it down in 34 minutes, Scott said.

A nearby spot fire was extinguished near the Arroyo Seco Parkway, also knows as the Pasadena (110) Freeway, causing traffic to back up.

Aerial video showed the spot fire between the freeway and the end of Academy Road, near Solano Avenue Elementary school.

No structures were damages, and the cause was under investigation, Scott said.
