Laguna Niguel Man Convicted of Molesting Three Girls

Glen Thomas Kauffman, 55, of Laguna Niguel, is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 22.

A Laguna Niguel man was convicted Tuesday of molesting three girls.

Glen Thomas Kauffman, 55, of Laguna Niguel, was convicted of six counts of lewd acts with a minor younger than 14 and three counts of oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child 10 years or younger. He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 22.

Kauffman, who was a member of the UC Irvine Alumni Association's Board of Directors, molested one of the girls multiple times and once with another, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office. The sexual assaults of two 10-year-old girls took place between August 2014 and August 2017, prosecutors said.

The third girl was molested in May 2016.

Correction: A previous version of this City News Service wire article incorrectly stated that Kauffman was a softball coach. According to Will Gallegos, president of the Laguna Niguel Girls Softball league, he was never a coach and only affiliated with the league as a parent.
