    The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent Monday to $3.725, the 10th consecutive decrease and 17th in 18 days.

    The average price has dropped 8.4 cents over the past 18 days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 4.6 cents less than one week ago and nine-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago, but 8.6 cents more than one year ago.

    The Orange County average price dropped one-tenth of a cent to $3.69, the 17th decrease in 19 days. It has dropped 6.9 cents over the past 19 days, including four-tenths of a cent on Sunday.

    The Orange County average price is 3.7 cents less than one week ago but 1 cent more than one month ago and 10.6 cents higher than one year ago.

    The dropping prices are the result of ample supply and decreasing oil prices, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
