2 Killed, 1 Injured in Long Beach Shooting

Police were investigating a shooting near a liquor store Tuesday night that left two men dead and one injured in Long Beach.

Officers responded to a call in the 1600 block of East Anaheim Street about 9:35 p.m. and found three people shot, the Long Beach Police Department said. One person was dead at the scene. The two others were taken to the hospital, where one died.

The surviving man is said to be in stable condition, according to authorities.

No weapons were recovered at the scene and investigators are looking for surveillance that may help identify the gunman responsible for the double homicide.

Police are trying to determine if the gunman and victims had any sort of relationship. Authorities said late Wednesday morning that the shooting was not connected to a robbery, as previously reported.

NBC4's Jamie Bankson contributed to this report.
