Power was restored to Long Beach Thursday after yet another outage, this time north of the downtown area.

Initial reports indicated an electrical vault fire knocked out electricity. The Long Beach Fire Department said there was not an explosion, but there was smoke showing from a vault.

According to the city's Public Works Department, power was out between Magnolia Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard from Hill Street to 16th Street, just south of Pacific Coast Highway.

Power was restored by 4 p.m., city officials said.

Thursday marked the latest in a series of outages in the city since July, including a days-long outage sparked by an electrical fire that sent manhole covers flying into the air.
