Rain Expected for SoCal Weekend

Weather forecast includes 60 percent chance of showers through Saturday

A storm system developing over the eastern Pacific Ocean is approaching Southern California just in time for the weekend.

Temperatures will hover just shy of 70 degrees for most of Friday. Heading into the evening, Angelenos can expect a 60 percent chance of rain as temperatures drop into the low 50s.

The chance of rain will linger into Saturday morning, although showers are likely to be intermittent in the afternoon. Expect a high of 66 and a low of 49. Thunder is possible.

The National Weather Service is estimating a quarter inch to an inch of rain in most areas, although totals could be greater if the storm tracks closer to the SoCal shore.

By Sunday, the sun should return, with just a 10 percent chance of showers. The high will be 67 and the low will be 50.
