The quake was centered about 2 miles southeast of Devore, which marks the entry to the Cajon Pass between the San Bernardino and San Gabriel mountain ranges.

The earthquake was reported at 8:07 a.m. at a depth of more than 6 miles. Initially reported at magnitude 4.1, the quake had been downgraded to magnitude 3.8 by midmorning by scientists at Caltech and the U.S. Geological Survey.

The shaker was centered 7 miles west of the mountain town of Crestline, 9 miles north-northwest of Rialto, and 9 miles north of Fontana. The Los Angeles Civic Center is located 49 west-southwest of the epicenter.

The USGS webpage on the quake says the quake was on the San Andreas Fault.

NBC4’s Facebook page lit up with reactions. People felt the quake in Victorville, Rialto, Paramount, Norco, Apple Valley, Colton, Los Feliz and even Studio City where a woman reported her mirror shaking.

Desiree Carroll said she thought a truck went off the 57 Freeway and hit her house in Diamond Bar.

Pat Gowder said he heard the rumble rather then felt it.

“Sounded like my house was sliding but didn't feel movement. I live in Glendora,” Gowder wrote.

Michael V Muñoz wrote, “Oh Ok! So it wasn't just me feeling like I was going to passout after my run this morning!”

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department had no reports of damage in the 30 minutes after the quake.

Nonetheless, the USGS's "Did You Feel It?" page shows that the earthquake was widely felt in Southern California.
