RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- The former head of a Corona off-road vehicle parts manufacturing firm was sentenced to eight years in prison for distributing child pornography, federal officials said Wednesday.
William Kreag Donahoe, 39, the founder and former president of Donahoe Enterprises Inc., also known as Donahoe Racing, was given a 96-month prison term for sending images of an adult male engaged in sex with an underage girl, according to U.S. Attorney's Office spokesman Thom Mrozek.
U.S. District Judge Stephen G. Larson told Donahoe that, following his parole, he would be on supervised release for the rest of his life, Mrozek said.
According to a federal indictment, Donahoe sent child porn to a man in Tulare County in November 2006. The recipient was a detective with the county's sheriff's department, posing as someone else in a Yahoo! chat room, Mrozek said.
"After Donahoe claimed that he had pictures depicting himself having sexual relations with one of his daughters, Donahoe sent pornographic images of a man and a juvenile female, although the photos did not depict Donahoe, and he did not have a daughter at the time," Mrozek stated.
An investigation by Corona police, the Tulare County Sheriff's Department and the FBI led to Donahoe's arrest a year later. Donahoe's business closed in December.
Investigators discovered more illicit material on his computer hard drive, according to court papers.

In June, Donahoe pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography, and the U.S. Attorney's Office dropped a charge of posessing child pornography.
