Police on Tuesday were reviewing surveillance video with the hope of learning who was behind the death of a man in his late 30s during an apparent robbery in downtown Los Angeles.
The incident happened about 10:40 p.m. Monday near San Julian and Sixth streets on Skid Row. Two men pushed another man to the ground and went through his pockets before running away, said Sgt. Richard Tamez, a watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Station.
The robbery victim, who was described as Latino between 30 and 40-years-old, struck his head on the pavement in the fall and died.
The assailants, described by police as African American, took off running.
No other details were immediately available.
