A 27-year-old Rialto man was shot to death at a house party near CSU San Bernardino and a high school campus early Sunday, officials said.
Officers responded around 1:20 a.m. to reports of shots heard in the 5500 block of North Osborne Court, according to a statement from the San Bernardino Police Department.
Deandre Williams was found on the ground near the driveway suffering from multiple gunshots to his upper torso, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gunfire flashes could be seen in grainy black-and-white surveillance video from outside the residence. A person who appears to be the shooter can be seen fleeing on foot.
The victim was within 10 to 15 feet of the shooter, police said. Witnesses said they heard no argument prior to the gunfire.
Investigators said the shooting took place during a party with about 100 attendees.
“This house has been known to have parties in the past and it’s in close proximity to Cal State San Bernardino,” said homicide Sgt. Gary Robertson. “We don’t know the reason for the shooting at this point and time.”
