Man Wanted for Stealing Wine by Stuffing Bottles Down Pants: Police

Police Tuesday sought the public's help in identifying a man who twice stole bottles of high-end wine from stores in Glendale.

The thefts occurred on Oct. 12 at Mission Wine & Spirits at 708 S. Glendale Ave. and Mission Liquor at 825 W. Glenoaks Blvd., according to Tahnee Lightfoot of the Glendale Police Department.

"In both cases, the suspect entered the wine section and concealed high- dollar bottles of wine down the front of his pants before leaving the store," according to Lightfoot.

The suspect was seen driving a white 2011-2014 Volkswagen Jetta with black paper plates.

Police circulated an image of the suspect, who is described as white or Hispanic, 25-35 years old with a beard.
