Police Search for Hit-and-Run Driver Who Struck a Patrol Car

The crash occured near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Pacific Avenue in Marina Del Rey

The search is on for an SUV that struck a patrol car, sending two officers to hospital, and fled the scene early Monday morning at Washington Boulevard and Pacific Avenue in Marina Del Rey.

An SUV reportedly cut off a patrol car, causing it veer head on into bus benches. The incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Monday.

Police did not release a suspect or vehicle description.

Both officers in the patrol car were transported to the hospital and have been released, according to LAPD.

People at the scene at the time of the crash rushed out to help the officer

“Some people takes him out of the car, and I ask him, ‘Hey, man, can you move your legs?’ Because this is important, and then I see that he was OK,” said Adrian, a witness.
