Masked Robbers Assault Employee at Burbank Carl's Jr.

The suspects face felonious assault charges.

An employee was injured during a robbery at a Burbank Carl's Jr. on Monday.

The robbery occurred around 2 a.m. when two masked robbers entered the restaurant and hit the employee in the head before taking an undisclosed sum of cash.

Before the attack, a surveillance camera captured the suspects strolling along the Verdugo Avenue sidewalk right in front of the restaurant. Inside, an employee could be seen sweeping the floor. Suddenly, the suspects dash across the parking lot and barge through the front door.

After taking the cash, the suspects can be seen running west on Verdugo Avenue. Police say they got into a getaway car, but the camera does not appear to have recorded that.

The employee hurt in the robbery did not require hospitalization, but the suspects face felonious assault charges in addition to other charges.

Both suspects are described as men in their 20s. Anyone with information is asked to call the Burbank Police Department.
