A man in his 70s was killed today when a Metrolink train struck his vehicle in Baldwin Park.
Train number 304 was heading from Union Station in downtown Los Angeles to San Bernardino when the crash occurred about 9:35 a.m. at Francisquito Avenue, said Sherita Coffelt of Metrolink.
Authorities withheld the man's name, pending notification of his relatives. Two passengers on the train were hospitalized, Coffelt said.
The train was halted, and Metrolink used buses to transport passengers around the area. The train was released for service after about two hours, Coffelt said.
