Missing Hiker Last Seen at Runyon Canyon Trails

The family of Brandon Thomas Olterman, 26, is extremely concerned, according to authorities

Police are seeking information regarding the whereabouts of a 26-year-old man last seen Sunday afternoon at Runyon Canyon Park’s hiking trails in Hollywood.

Brandon Thomas Olterman is described by authorities as a 5’10” white male with brown hair and blue eyes, weighing 135 pounds, according to a Los Angeles Police Department blog post.

He was said to be wearing a dark color button shirt with a white T-shirt underneath, blue jeans and tennis shoes the day of his hike.

“Mr. Olterman has not been seen or heard from since and his family is extremely concerned,” reads the post.

An LA-based artist, who referred to Olterman as a children’s book illustrator, solicited help in finding the missing hiker from the public via Twitter.

Runyon Canyon Park is open from dawn to dusk seven days a week, according to the Los Angeles City Department of Recreation & Parks’ webpage. An accompanying blurb describing the park said it is “unstaffed” and “unlocked.”

Anyone with information on Olterman is asked to call Detective Carlton of LAPD's Missing Persons Unit at 213-996-1800.
