Four-Hour Overnight Search for Shooter Ends in Mission Hills Neighborhood

A man suspected of opening fire after an argument at a gas station in Mission Hills, then running through nearby neighborhoods, was taken into custody early Wednesday after a nearly four-hour search.

Police received a shots fired call at 1:50 a.m. and were sent to a gas station at Devonshire Street and Woodman Avenue, where they learned that a man had gotten into an argument and fired at the ground, according to Los Angeles police Sgt. George Diaz. Officers set up a search perimeter around the area of San Jose Street and Lemona Avenue.

Police dogs were deployed to capture the shooters, ending a tense overnight for residents who were told to stay indoors during the search.
