Mountain Lion Caught in San Joaquin Valley Yard is Released into Wild

A 100-pound mountain lion, a little woozy after being sedated by wildlife officials, was seen waddling back into the wild Sunday after a night on the town in a San Joaquin Valley neighborhood.

The big cat, estimated to be 2-3 years old, was first spotted in the area of Burton and Mt. View, according to the Tulare Police Department.

The police started receiving calls about the animal just after 9 p.m., and discovered it in some bushes in the city about 160 miles north of Los Angeles

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife examined the feline, determined it was in good health, and tagged it for future identification.

A video shared by the department shows the animal stumbling back safely into the wild.

"As of now we don't have a name for him so we'll leave that up to comments (section) to figure out an appropriate name for him!" the Facebook page said.
