Rancho Palos Verdes Woman, Man Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

A 45-year-old Rancho Palos Verdes woman died Thursday afternoon from traumatic injuries she suffered in an apparent murder-suicide and the man she owned at least two homes with was found dead in a home in San Bernardino County.

Deputies from the Lomita Station were asked about 2:45 p.m. to conduct a welfare check on a man and woman who lived at a home in the 27800 block of Palmeras Place and when they arrived at the house they found the woman suffering from traumatic injuries, but were not able to locate the man who lived there, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. An investigation determined the couple also owned a home in Lake Arrowhead in San Bernardino County and a request was made by the LASD to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department to check that home for the man.

San Bernardino County deputies went to the Lake Arrowhead home and found a man suffering from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the LASD said. No other suspects were being sought, the department said.

The names of the man and woman were not disclosed.

Anyone with information about either death was asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS or lacrimestoppers.org.
