A 53-year-old Norwalk man has been arrested on suspicion of drugging and sexually assaulting a 22-year-old babysitter he hired from an online service, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

On Jan. 11, Kevin Cady returned home from work early and offered the babysitter a drink he had prepared, Sgt. Gary Harman said in a statement issued Thursday.

"The victim consumed the drink and immediately began to feel sleepy. She awoke sometime later to find the suspect sexually assaulting her," Harman said.

The victim fled the home, located in the 14100 block of Bayside Drive, and contacted deputies.

Cady was detained and later released pending investigation.
