OC Coroner Releases Name of Teen Killed in Tustin Crash

The Orange County coroner's office Saturday released the name of a teenage boy killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash that injured several other people in Tustin.

Pedro Fuentes, 17, of Santa Ana was a passenger in the crashed car and pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner said.

The crash occurred at about 2:50 p.m. Friday in the 16000 block of Legacy Road, across from the Amalfi Apartment complex, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz said.

Four males and three females were in the Infiniti M37 at the time of the accident, Kurtz said. The male victims are 17 years old, two of the girls are 17 and another victim is a 20-year-old woman, Kurtz said.

The Infiniti had been westbound on Legacy Road "when it veered off the roadway and collided with a cement post," Tustin police Lt. Robert Wright said.

The vehicle then spun out of control and slammed into a moving van that was legally parked along the eastbound side of the road, Wright said.

"The collision with the moving van caused the Infiniti to roll over," he said.

The injured victims were taken to hospitals, Wright said, but their conditions were not immediately available.

The vehicle involved has seating for up to five people but there were seven people in the crashed car, police said.
