Wednesday's arraignment for the 23-year-old Iraq War veteran accused of killing four transients in Orange County was postponed.
The next hearing for Itzcoatl Ocampo was scheduled for Feb. 17.
Amid heavy security inside an Orange County jail courtroom, Ocampo's family sat in the front row for Wednesday's hearing.
Ocampo is accused of fatally stabbing four transients, Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas said.
"In each of these cases, the violence, the number of stab wounds increased," Rackauckas said.
In one incident, Ocampo allegedly stabbed a victim more than 60 times, Rackauckas said.
Ocampo remains jailed without bail.
