Man Wanted on Suspicion of Brutally Beating Wife

The couple's 13-year-old daughter, who was also assaulted, is credited with saving her mother's life

Westminster police are searching for a man suspected to have beaten his wife and daughter before leaving her for dead and fleeing. The wife remains hospitalized after undergoing multiple surgeries. Vikki Vargas reports from Westminster for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Friday Jan. 31, 2014. (Published Friday, Jan. 31, 2014)

A man suspected of beating his wife so brutally that she needs reconstructive surgery is on the run and considered armed and dangerous.

Rodolfo "Rudy" Cisneros, 37, allegedly dragged his wife into the shower last week and beat her causing “severe facial injuries,” the Westminster Police Department said Friday.

The 32-year-old mother was found handcuffed and unconscious in the bathroom when police arrived at the couple’s home in the 13000 block of Iowa Street in Westminster. The attack happened shortly before midnight on Jan. 24.

Investigators said the suspect argued with his wife while their four children were in the home. The argument then turned violent, with Cisneros allegedly beating his wife and assaulting their 13-year-old daughter, who is credited with saving her mother’s life.

Investigators said the girl fled the chaos and ran to the home of a neighbor, who then called police.

"We believe that this brave little girl saved her mom,” Westminster Police Sgt. Richard Mize said. “If she hadn't notified a neighbor, it appears that Cisneros was going to continue beating her."

The victim remained hospitalized Friday and is under constant protection, officials said. The couple's children are with relatives.

Cisneros is believed to have run away before police arrived, fleeing over a back wall, and police are asking for the public's help to find him.

Pictured above, Cisneros is described as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, 130 pounds with short, straight brown hair.

A warrant for the arrest of Cisneros, who also goes by Rodolfo Torres, has been issued. He is wanted on suspicion of attempted murder, torture, mayhem and other felony crimes, officials said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Westminster Police Department at 714-898-3315 or a local law enforcement agency.
