In a dispute between two brothers, one wounded the other with a samurai sword, the Ventura County Fire Department said Tuesday.
The incident happened in the 1100 block of Kenny Street, across from Rio Real Elementary School around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
It appears the incident appears to have started as a domestic dispute, and one brother hit the other with a chair and the other slashed his sibling's forehead with a samurai sword.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Department is investigating, a spokesman said. Both brothers were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
Neither of the men sustained life-threatening injuries.
It was originally reported that one of the men had been shot, but further investigation revealed that was not the case, according to the sheriff's department.
