One Person Hit In Deputy-Involved Shooting In Lennox Area

One person was wounded in a deputy-involved shooting in the unincorporated Lennox area of Los Angeles County Friday morning.

The shooting occurred about 1:15 a.m. near the intersection of Lennox Boulevard and Firmona Avenue and involved deputies from the South Los Angeles station, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

NBC4 reported deputies were looking in the area for a man who may have had a gun and when they spotted the suspect in a car. The man drove off and led deputies on a short pursuit that ended in a crash at Lennox Boulevard and

Firmona Avenue. Moments after the crash, the shooting occurred, NBC4 said.

The victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, Schrader said.

No deputies were hurt.
