Online Kiddie Porn Sting Turns up Former Boxer Aide

Shuttered Google Hello picture sharing service used to trade images of underage boys

Jeff Rosato, a former aide to California Senator Barbara Boxer, has plead guilty to charges of trading in child pornography.

Rosato, who was a senior policy adviser and served the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, and had previously worked for Senator Bob Toricelli from New Jersey.

He was fired by Boxer immediately after his arrest in November.

Rosato, who lived in the beltway suburb of Arlington, Virginia, faces a minimum of five years in prison and must register as a sex offender.

The porn in question was found after a raid on Rosato's home, which turned up an external hard drive with 200 images.

He had apparently received the images from a user of the now-defunct Google Hello photo sharing and chat service who was caught in an on line sting operation.

Google and Comcast then cooperated with subpoenas to identify users trading in the illicit images, including Rosato.

Jackson West has nothing funny to say about this.
