Opening: Big Horse Corn Maze

The Temecula fall wonderland debuts, delivering special themed weekends and activities galore to fall fans.

GETTING YOUR FALL ON? It doesn't have to be an arduous process. Really, the only two big steps to take involve A) finding a spot that's doing the whole harvest-y thing throughout the month of October and B) getting to that spot, which is often a bit outside of the city. And one of the best-known of the harvest-fun, get-your-fall-on destinations in Southern California is the Big Horse Corn Maze, a longtime Temecula tradition. You will find the fall fun at the historic Big Horse Feed & Mercantile, as the name suggests, and you will find it all beginning on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017. The agricultural-awesome experience will be open nearly every day through Monday, Oct. 30, though do note that it will close over a few of the Mondays (Monday, Oct. 23 and Monday, Oct. 30 are open days). So what's at this seasonal extravaganza to do and see and buy and participate in? Well, that...

MONDO MAZE... is a huge draw, and we do mean "mondo" and "huge," as it covers over 11 acres (the 2017 theme pays tribute to our military). A pumpkin patch also attracts those needing some jack o'lantern inspiration, and should you seek a squash that's a different hue than orange, they've got some of those, too. Themed weekends also rule the Big Horse scene, with That Old Time Rock and Roll Weekend starting things off on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 (yep, a classic car show is part of the festival). A Salute to the Military Weekend, an All-American Weekend, an Old-Fashioned Farm Days Weekend (complete with butter churning), and an End of Harvest Weekend will roll out over the course of October. And if your tot wants to wear his costume to the patch and maze? Keep Oct. 29 in mind, a date that includes a pet costume contest, too.
