Man Shot, Killed by Police in Pacoima After Pursuit

    Police shot and killed a man suspected of domestic violence following a pursuit in Pacoima early Saturday.

    Authorities responded to a domestic violence call around 2 a.m. in the area of Omelveny Avenue, north of Carl Street, according to Detective Meghan Aguilar of the Los Angeles Police Department.

    When officers arrived, they started chasing the man, who led a pursuit for 10 minutes around the neighborhood, Aguilar said. The man got out of the vehicle and ran a block away at Hadden Avenue before officers shot and killed him.

    Police found a firearm nearby the man, Aguilar said. He had not been identified Saturday morning.

    The shooting remains under investigation.
