A man in Palmdale died late Saturday after police say a woman shot him as he and another man were fighting.
The shooting happened around 11:14 p.m. on the 36500 block of Rozalee Drive when the victim, described only as a Hispanic man, got into a fight with the second man, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Detective Joana Warren said.
That's when the woman, fearing for the second man's safety, fired a shot at the victim and struck him in the lower torso, Warren said. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was declared dead.
All three people involved knew each other, Warren said. Both the woman and the second man were arrested.
