‘Parks After Dark' Program Returns to LA for Summer Fun and Wellness

Residents of all ages in Los Angeles County will be able to dance salsa, express their inner artist, play sports or learn everything from cooking to computer skills in local parks this summer as part of the "Parks After Dark" program, starting on Thursday, June 13.

The program celebrates 10 years of its implementation this year and will offer, as every summer, activities in 33 parks in Los Angeles County. These events will depend on the park and activities are available for all ages, including small children, young adults, families and seniors.

"Parks after Dark" will begin offering this year's "Our Spot" program, aimed at young people in seventh through twelfth grades in nine county parks.

"Our Spot" will offer young people a place to meet with their friends, as well as health and wellness classes.

The "Parks After Dark" events will be available, from Thursday, June 13 through Saturday, August 3, 2019, Thursday through Saturday, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. The "Our Place" program will be available Tuesday and Wednesday, from 3 to 7 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
