Pickup Crashes Into Front Door of Brick Pasadena House

The pickup slammed into the brick house after its driver lost control at an intersection, residents said

A pickup crashed into the front of a brick house late Wednesday in Pasadena, damaging the front entrance and startling residents who watched the vehicle jump a curb before slamming into the residence.

The crash occurred at about 11 p.m. at 136 E. Washington Blvd. The driver failed to negotiate a turn near Summit Avenue (map) before the crash, according to residents.

"I was looking out the window because I heard a skidding noise," said resident Khristopher Jordan. "I saw a big old truck coming toward the house so I moved."

No one inside the home was injured. The driver was hospitalized, but details regarding the driver's condition were not immediately available.

The pickup sustained front-end damage. Firefighters cleared bricks and other debris from the front of the residence before using wooden beams to support the entrance.
