Authorities on Sunday said they arrested a 58-year-old piano teacher on suspicion of taking lewd photos of a girl and are asking for any additional victims to come forward.
Lake Forest resident John Mordecai Scott was taken into custody Friday after an investigation involving lewd acts with a child, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Scott is accused of taking photos of the girl at his home and workplace. Officials said Scott teaches piano at his Lake Forest home and also works at Coast Band Music at 24002 Via Fabricante in Mission Viejo and OC Music at 29941 Aventura in Rancho Santa Margarita.
Scott faces charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child. He was being held on $500,000 bail.
Scott was expected to be arraigned Tuesday and may face additional charges, sheriff's officials said.
The case was being handled by the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force. Investigators said they believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging anyone with information to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at 714-647-7418 or 714-647-7000.
