One Dead, Three Injured in Fire at a Pico Rivera Nail Salon

The man's body was discovered at Top Line nail salon after firefighters knocked down flames at the strip mall

One man died and three women were injured Wednesday in a fire at a Pico Rivera nail salon.

The man's body was discovered in an upstairs area, which was described by firefighters as an attic crawl space, at Top Line nail salon after the 8 p.m. fire. About 20 people were in the business near East Whittier Boulevard and South Durfee Avenue.

One woman was in critical condition. Two others suffered minor injuries.

Heavy fire was running through the attic of the building. Nearby stores sustained minor damage.

Firefighters reported the flames were out at 9:05 p.m.

A firefighter also suffered minor injuries, fire officials said.

The fire's origin appears to be a storage closet.
