A driver wanted in a stolen vehicle investigation jumped a fence and wall before running on rooftops in an attempt to elude officers late Thursday in a San Fernando Valley neighborhood.

The pickup chase began at around 11 p.m. on Paxton and Laurel Canyon in Pacoima as LAPD were right behind a stolen Dodge Ram truck. NewsChopper 4 Alpha was above the scene as the driver cut traffic on the 118 heading eastbound.

After driving on the southbound 5 freeway, the pickup continued westbound on Foothill Boulevard in Sylmar. The pursuit came to an end as the man exited his vehicle and began running in the streets of a residential area in Arleta.

After running on the rooftops of a few homes, he was taken into custody.
