Women Who Led Suspected Stolen Car Chase Jump Into Bushes

A wild police pursuit of a suspected stolen vehicle that passed through Los Angeles International Airport ended with two people in handcuffs in the Baldwin Hills area Wednesday night.

Gil Levyas and Newschopper4 Bravo were over the chase at approximately 10:30 p.m. near the 105 Freeway and 110 Freeway interchange. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that they were in pursuit of a suspected stolen vehicle.

The pursuit had already come from near LAX, and the driver decided to head back west, through Compton.

The chase traveled under LAX's runway, leading to police pulling off the pursuit and going into tracking mode.

However, the vehicle came to a stop in a residential area in Baldwin Hills, with two people who appeared to be females exiting the vehicle. The two people did not appear to have a clear exit plan, and the LAPD's airship placed an overhead light on the area where the two people were hiding out.

Soon after, LAPD ground units showed up on scene, just as the two people jumped into the bushes. One person was immediately arrested, while the other person attempted to get away. She did not get far, and both of the women were soon under arrest.

The chase ended at approximately 11:05 p.m.
