A dangerous, high-speed police pursuit of a silver sedan ended in the city of Montebello when the driver parked a vehicle in the driveway and entered a residence Sunday.
Newschopper4 Bravo was over the chase around 5:30 p.m, with the driver traveling at high speeds and on the opposite side of the street.
The pursuit started in Whittier around 5:11 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. The California Highway Patrol said that it was assisting.
The pursuit seemed to come to an abrupt end when the driver pulled into a driveway and made his way into a residence on 5th Street in the city of Montebello.
Police quickly set up a perimeter, as the pursuit seemed to turn into a standoff.
As of 6:15 p.m., the standoff was still ongoing.
At around 6:35 p.m., the CHP said that officers were releasing the perimeter but did not explain the reasoning.
