Police Investigating After Suspect Grabs UCLA Student's Buttocks

Police Wednesday were investigating an early-morning sexual battery involving a UCLA student who was accosted on campus.

The battery happened about 2:15 a.m. Tuesday near Covel Commons at 320 De Neve Drive, according to UCLA Police Department Lt. Kevin Kilgore.

"The victim was walking to her residence when the suspect approached her and touched her inappropriately," Kilgore said. "The suspect got into a silver four-door sedan and fled southbound on Young Drive West towards Strathmore Plaza."

A campus crime alert indicated the suspect grabbed the victim's buttocks. The suspect, who had no shirt on, was described as a 23- to 28-year- old light-skinned black man with a thin build and short black, braided hair.

He was wearing khaki or gray pants and had tattoos around his torso.

Anyone with information about the attack or the suspect was asked to call the UCLA Police Department Detective Unit at 310-825-1491.

It was the second attack in recent days at the campus.

A UCLA security guard was injured in an attack in a campus parking structure and the suspect was still at large, officials said Wednesday. The two incidents are not beleived to be connected, though, Kilgore said.
