A wild police pursuit concluded in the South Los Angeles area Tuesday night.

The California Highway Patrol was chasing the vehicle in the San Fernando Valley with the assistance of the LAPD airship. However, the airship lost sight of the vehicle at the 5 and 110 freeway interchage.

NewsChopper4 Alpha and Ileana Moreno pulled off the San Fernando Valley pursuit after losing sight of the vehicle due to the flight restrictions near Dodger Stadium at approximately 9:40 p.m.

At approximately 10 p.m., Gil Leyvas and Newschopper4 Bravo caught up with the same vehicle going eastbound on the 105 Freeway in South Los Angeles. The high-speed chase was taken over by the LAPD with the assistance of the LAPD airship and featured multiple narrow misses at high speeds.

Eventually, the pursuit ended abruptly at West 83rd Street and South Flower Street when the driver stopped his vehicle and stuck his hands out the window.

The pursuit suspect was taken into custody shortly after stopping without further incident at approximately 10:25 p.m.
