Police Release Footage Of Vehicle They Believe Killed Woman In Glendale

Police Monday released video footage of what they believe is the vehicle involved in the fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 72-year-old woman in Glendale.

The footage came from a security camera located at a business on Allen Avenue, a street off Glenoaks Boulevard, Glendale Police Sgt. Dan Suttles said.

Footage shows a woman getting out of her vehicle and apparently checking it for damage, Suttles said.

"Witnesses saw the woman and have given the police detectives a description of her as well as the vehicle," he said.

The woman was described as being in her late 50s to early 70s, driving a black Toyota Prius.

Officers responded at 7:20 p.m. Friday to the intersection of Glenoaks Boulevard and Linden Avenue and located the 72-year-old victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Suttles said.

She was Novar Ismailyan of Glendale, according to Lt. Nani Cholakians of the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

The area where Ismailyan was struck was described as a "very dark" portion of Glenoaks Boulevard, Suttles said.

Detectives have video of the woman walking in the area shortly before she was struck, but do not have video of the crash, he said. Authorities ask for witnesses or anyone with surveillance video of the crash to come forward.

The City of Glendale has offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the motorist responsible for the death.

Anyone who witnessed the crash was asked to call the Glendale Police Department at (818) 548-4911. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
