Los Angeles police were responding Thursday to a report of a masked gunman who robbed a bank in Granada Hills then escaped.

The gunman had entered a Wells Fargo near the intersection of San Fernando Mission and Balboa boulevards (map) and was ordering people around, authorities said.

The man, wearing a mask and black jacket, demanded money. He was armed with a blue steel handgun, according to LAPD.

A teller said she was coming to work at the bank when she saw the man, clad all in black, leaving the branch. The woman called her manager, who she said confirmed that the bank had been robbed. The manager told the employee to stay away.

The incident was reported at 11:45 a.m., according to Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section. No one was injured.

Police were searching for a silver BMW that served as the getaway car. The vehicle fled westbound on San Fernando Mission Boulevard, and the robber left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Aerial video showed an ambulance and multiple police patrol and unmarked cars at the scene.
