The driver got out of his car and took off on foot after the crash, police said.

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a teenager in South LA Tuesday night before he picked up a ride from the scene with another driver.

The driver hit at least seven parked cars as well as a 19-year-old who was leaving a car near E. 105th Street and Wadsworth Avenue around 7:20 p.m., according to LAPD.

The victim has been identified as Jerry Arredondo Jr. of Los Angeles.

Arredondo was knocked 20 feet up into the air and 40 feet away from the point of impact, according to police. The driver was speeding at 80 to 100 mph in a newer-model, dark-colored Chevrolet Camaro, police said.

The driver abandoned his rental car and was picked up by a silver BMW, according to police.
