18 People Arrested in Pomona Prostitution Sting

A Pomona-area law enforcement task force arrested 18 men suspected of soliciting undercover officers posing as prostitutes on Pomona's Holt Corridor also known as "The Blade," authorities said Saturday.

The sting was held from 8 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. on East Holt Avenue between Garey and Mills avenues, Pomona police said. It was conducted by the Pomona police Major Crimes Task Force, Azusa police Special Enforcement Team and the California Highway Patrol, Pomona police said.

Undercover policewomen posed as prostitutes and were offered money for sex acts by the so-called "Johns," who were then arrested after the decoy signaled the deal was complete, police said.

The arrested men were between the ages of 19 and 91 and from as far away as Las Vegas, Nevada and Bloomington and Rancho Cucamonga, police said.

Fifteen vehicles were impounded during the sting.
