A 2.7-magnitude earthquake rattled the Beaumont area Wednesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor hit at 6:29 a.m. at a depth of 4 kilometers, the USGS reported. It was originally reported as a preliminary 2.9-magnitude earthquake, but was downsized.
