Firefighters knocked down a one-acre brushfire Thursday afternoon in Rancho Palos Verdes.
The two-alarm blaze was reported about noon near the intersection of Terranea Way and Palos Verdes Drive South.
Charred brush was visible about 100 feet from homes, but a fire official said there was never an official threat to structures and no evacuations were ordered.
About 12:45 p.m., a fire official said there were no more active flames.
