Rapper Nipsey Hussle was known in South Los Angeles for his efforts to combat gang violence as much as he was for his music. On Sunday, the Grammy-nominated artist was gunned down outside his clothing store on Slauson Avenue.
Since then, mourners have gathered at the site to remember Hussle and his participation in community development projects like an open-air museum on Crenshaw Boulevard and a program in South LA where young people can take classes in science, technology and mathematics.
