Two 12-year-old hikers in the Tapia Park area of Malibu were rescued by helicopter after suffering minor injuries Friday morning.
Reports of a person suffering from heat exhaustion and another with an ankle injury were made around 9:10 a.m.
Aerial footage showed at least one person being airlifted while rescuers tended to about five hikers on the side of a mountain. The injured hikers were from Ventura and Santa Maria, officials said.
Hikers were reminded to “drink lots of water” in a tweet from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
