$50K Reward Announced for Info on SLA Father's Drive-By Slaying

"Our family is devastated and we really need the help and the support of the community and we ask you to please come forward"

A $50,000 reward was announced Monday for information that helps police solve the gang-related drive-by shooting death of a man in south Los Angeles last fall.

Antonio Wilson, 27, was shot about 6 p.m. Nov. 14 as he stood in a parking lot in the 4300 block of South Vermont Avenue. A white four-door BMW 3 Series sedan -- possibly a 2010 model or newer -- pulled up to Wilson, and shots were fired at him, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The car then sped off.

Wilson died at a hospital on Nov. 30.

"Our family is devastated and we really need the help and the support of the community and we ask you to please come forward," said Nicole Williams, Wilson's mother.

The suspect was described as a black man about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds, the LAPD reported.

"It takes courage, strength and character, integrity, to come forward and say what you saw, and those people we consider heroes. You're not snitches. Those people are heroes that come forward, that want to have a stop to the senseless violence, that want to take their communities back, that want to be able to go to the shopping center without risking their lives," Williams said.

The reward was offered by the Los Angeles City Council for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect. Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call LAPD South Bureau homicide detectives at 323-786-5110, or 877-LAPD-247.
