Riverside Sex Offender Arrested for Child Molestation

A registered sex offender has been re-arrested in Riverside County for allegedly molesting multiple young girls. Tony Shin reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017. (Published Saturday, June 10, 2017)

A convicted sex offender suspected of molesting several Riverside children was being held Friday in lieu of $1.5 million bail.

Tyrone Sanchez, 35, of Hemet was arrested Thursday and booked into the Robert Presley Jail on suspicion of lewd acts on a child under 14 years old, forced oral copulation of a minor and targeting multiple victims in a sex crime.

According to Riverside police Detective Karla Beler, the alleged offenses occurred over a roughly 14-year span, beginning in 2003.

Beler declined to disclose how the children knew the suspect, or the circumstances behind the alleged abuse.

"Due to Sanchez's personable nature, it is believed there could be other unreported victims," she said.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the police department's Sexual Assault Child Abuse unit at (951) 353-7125.

According to court records, Sanchez has a 2009 conviction for failure to maintain his sex offender registration under Penal Code 290, which requires all registrants to keep law enforcement officials informed of where they're living.

The California Department of Justice's Megan's Law website also shows that he was convicted in 2003 of lewd acts on a child but evidently did not serve time in state prison.
