Riverside Voters Can Cast Ballots at Malls Countywide

Riverside County voters can take advantage of early voting opportunities at malls in Riverside, Palm Desert and Temecula Friday through Sunday.

Registrar of Voters Rebecca Spencer said voting booths will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day in the Galleria at Tyler Mall at Magnolia Avenue and Tyler Street in Riverside, the Westfield Palm Desert at Highway 111 and Monterey Avenue in Palm Desert, and the Promenade Mall at Ynez and Winchester roads in Temecula.

"Early voting provides access to voters who are unable to make it to the polls on election day, and to those who would like their vote to be among the first counted on election night," she said. "Voters are encouraged to cast ballots as soon as possible so they can be included in the first results."

Early voting has been available since the first of the month at the Office of the Registrar of Voters on Gateway Drive in Riverside. Spencer said voting booths at the office will remain accessible Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This past Monday was the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election.

Registrar of Voters staff can begin tabulating ballots the week before election day, but state law prohibits posting results prior to the close of voting on the day itself.

In Riverside County, closely watched local contests include the sheriff's race and two supervisorial races. One state Senate seat is on the line, along with seven Assembly seats and four congressional seats.
