Roads Closed After Trash Truck Overturns Near East Los Angeles

An overturned trash truck in the East Los Angeles area was causing traffic issues Thursday morning.

The crash was reported around 10:20 a.m. near the transition road between the 60 and 710 freeways, according to Inspector Tony Akins of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The truck was leaking fuel onto the roadway, according to Officer Villalobos of the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities closed the transition road on the westbound 60 to the 710 Freeway in both directions.Traffic was backed up to the 605 Freeway more than five miles away, according to the California Department of Trnasportation.

At least one injury was reported in the crash.
