Robbery Suspect Being Chased By Officers Hits Pedestrian, Crashes Vehicle

A robbery suspect being chased by officers struck a pedestrian in Boyle Heights before crashing the vehicle he was driving and fleeing on foot Tuesday.

The chase ended about 5:15 p.m. in the area of Gleason Avenue and Velasco Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The pedestrian struck was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

Officers cordoned off the area where the chase ended.

The suspect, considered armed and dangerous, was described as a man in his mid-20s.
